  • Eligibility
    • Farmers –individuals/joint borrowers who are owner cultivators.
    • Tenant farmers, oral lessees (Rights on land belonging to others) & share croppers. The farmers in such cases should furnish to the Bank satisfactory evidence to the effect having cultivated the land.
    • Self Help Groups (SHGs) or Joint Liability Groups (JLGs) of farmers including tenant farmers, share croppers etc.
  • Purpose
    Kisan Credit Card Scheme aims at providing adequate and timely credit support from the banking system under a single window with flexible and simplified procedure to the farmers for their cultivation & other needs as indicated below:
    • To meet the short term credit requirements for cultivation of crops
    • Post-harvest expenses
    • Consumption requirement of farmer household
    • Working capital for maintenance of farm assets and activities allied to agriculture like dairy animals.
    • Investment credit requirement for other agricultural activities like farm machinery and allied activities to agriculture like dairy animals etc. And repayable within a period of one year.
  • Quantum of finance
    • Minimum loan : No ceiling
    • Maximum Loan : No ceiling
    • It is need based finance considering cropping pattern, acreage and Scale of Finance.
  • Margin
    • There is no margin for crop loans under KCC. For crop loans, no separate margin need to be insisted as the margin is inbuilt while fixing the Scale of Finance (SoF).
